Boeing Announces Significant Software Change For 737 Max Aircraft, Shares Unimpressed | Zero Hedge

KW: Air New Zealand doesn’t fly the Boeing 737MAX 8. There are none in Australia either apart from 737MAX 8 aircraft flown in by Fiji Air (own 2) and Silk Air from Singapore (own 5 of the aircraft) but these flights have been banned. I read somewhere that the MAX 8 has bigger engines than other 737 models and to compensate they are mounted further forward then previous models and so the computer software has been re written to account for this. Other reports question whether Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the computers is responsible for the crashes as there was a mechanism that altered the planes flight angle automatically if a sensor got a high angle of attack which confused pilots. Whatever is the cause and apart from the heartache casued by losing loved ones and family members these crashes are going to severely impact Boeings jet sales of all models. Boeing has just cancelled the launch of the upgraded 777X.  Flying will/has become under the spotlight once again just like it was when the DC10 was crashing 30 years ago??

Boeing disaster: Countries that did & DID NOT ground 737 MAX 8 amid probe; BILLIONS at stake

The change, which was in the works before the Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed over the weekend, would mark a major shift from how Boeing originally designed a stall-prevention feature in the 737 MAX when it first delivered to airlines in 2017.
