In “Serious Blow” To US, Britain Concludes Huawei Is “Manageable Risk” To 5G Rollout | Zero Hedge

KW: Our position all along from the getgo is that the Huawei issue is simply a beatup by the Americans in their tradewar with the Chinese because Huawei has superior equipment that one country after another is recognising as being the fact and is resisting the U.S. attempts at sabotaging the trades, including New Zealand. Here our GCSB which we all know is dominated by the U.S. NSA who use it to spy on New Zealanders, has interupted the Spark program of having Huawei bid for the new 5G network in New Zealand by issuing strong warnings about the safety of the Huawei 5G network claiming it has embedded spy chips somewhere in the system – without being able to produce a scrap of evidence to prove the claim. All it is about the U.S. being behind in technological issues and not wanting the Chinese to gain a substantial global foot hold in the ultra fast 5G networks. A collegue of mine this morning, someone with vastly more knowledge of how telecomunications work than myself, pointed out that the reason the Americans don’t want countries to use Huawei equipment is because the 5G system is so fast that the U.S. doesn’t have the technological ability to access the data and spy on traffic themselves. Meanwhile while Washington seeks to enforce its China policy upon its allies, a German industry union head has said in a rare remark. He warned that conceding to Washington’s demand to ban the Chinese giant Huawei would be harmful for Germany. Slowly even hard core allies are realising what really going on. Regrettably this is not happening in New Zealand, we have already folded and its starting to cost GDP and jobs here. Now with Trump demanding that Europe take back ‘800 captured so called ISIS fighters to permeate Europe’, who needs enemies when you have friends like the U.S.?

Huawei 5G ban: US dragging Germany into harmful economic war with China, warns industry union head

In the latest “serious blow” to US efforts to persuade allies to ban the Chinese supplier from high-speed telecommunications systems, the FT reports that the British government has concluded that it can “mitigate the risk from using Huawei equipment in 5G networks.”
