KW: The first ever global on line meeting of the UN General Assembly has been held with polarising positions becoming eveident straight away. Putin spoke of peaceful solutions and the abandonment of unlawful sanctions to encourage trade amidst the pandemic so economic growth is rekindiled. India will get 100million doses of the Russian vaccine he says. A hopeful promising speech. China’s President Xi Jinping spoke of baseless accusations and his countries desire for peaceful economic development and respect of other countries. Plus he called for ‘major countries to act like major countries reinforcing Chinese desire to avoid conflict with other countries. Meanwhile Donald Trump attacked China and blamed it for covid-19, sarcasticly calling it the ‘China virus’ and said it would be made accountable – somehow. Blaming China for massive polution from plastics contamination too he ignores the fact that his own covid-19 pandemic adviser Dr Fauchi was involved with and funded the Wuhan lab experimenting with Corona viruses plus China used to be the rubbish tip for western plastic bottles and waste. How inconvienient he has forgotten that! The contrast in leadership if you can call it that from Trump is astounding !
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for a top-level meeting on joint global development of a Covid-19 vaccine. He also offered UN staff a dose of Russia’s Sputnik V formula for free.
