You will note that currently I am emphasizing  an awareness of what is going on in Syria. There is a reason that will become evident if you care to listen to the posts that are here from Ron Paul and soon to come from Paul Craig Roberts. Both men have served United States at the highest level and in my opinion are real patriots of their country. Regrettably for them they see the way the US is now being run as on a collision course with nuclear war being a possibility, a war that will be the last war on planet earth for life as we know it. Both rail about neocons dominating and controlling policy decisions in Washington, both rail against the lies that neocon controlled press emits.. Perhaps reading the Kiwiwatch article about Neocons first is a good start. But does this or should this concern us here in New Zealand or Australia, actually anywhere? Yes of course. Everywhere it is the same. Here the New Zealand government yields to us pressure to ‘do its share’. When NZ stands up for its own policy decisions such as being nuclear free as pronounced in 1984 by then Prime Minister David Lange, the US threw all its toys out of the cot for daring to be independent of their world view. Western orientated New Zealand was isolated and cut out of any defense arrangements including ‘intelligence’,  excommunicated from the west if you like. Did it harm us?

And to today…. The US pressurizes Prime Minister John Key to send troops once again to Iraq. He mulls it over loudly making us all think he is actually against the idea but he was always going to fold. The US is where he earned his fortune on bank trading desks, he and Obama are mates, it was obvious this was just posturing so how did the US help its mate, what did the US do to give him an ‘out’? They got their lapdog the British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond to fly out to New Zealand and ‘encourage’ New Zealand to do more and once again yield to US demands that we send New Zealand men to go to war once more on Americas behalf. This of course is just to make us all think that its not really the US behind these maneuvers.
