KW: Deal of the Century or Dud of the Century? Trumps vision and plan for peace between the remaining remnants of what was Palestine and Israel appears to be dead on arrival, perhaps by design. How completely stupid can you be when you are proposing a peace plan and you don’t even talk or consult with one of the parties to the peace plan. Rather Trump is inclined to chat up one of , maybe the only ‘friend’ , he has in international circles the thug and alleged criminal in his own country Benjamin Netanyahu still hanging onto the Prime Minister role in Israel having failed to win the last 2 elections but who has an elected ‘winner’ of the election unable to form a government becasue the rabble he has to talk to and win over can’t or won’t agree on coalition terms. Meantime the world has to watch a criminal laud himself alongside Trump anoouncing the ‘deal’ all to be funded by the U.S taxpayer. Billed as a “Vision for Peace, Prosperity and a Brighter Future,” the 180-page proposal unveiled Tuesday reads much like a real estate prospectus. It promises the Palestinians a $50 billion economic development plan, jobs and investments as a way out of poverty, and statehood at some point in the future. The catch? Theirs would be a demilitarized state fully enclosed by Israel, whose security interests would take precedent writes Nebojasa Malec for RT. All of this puts the Palestinians in a very difficult position. The US has now openly sided with Israel, abandoning the long-held pretense of being the “honest broker.” Even if they could somehow get over the recognition of Israel and the refugee issue – which they can’t, and won’t – the Vision offers them less than what they rejected at Camp David in 2000 in terms of land. Then again, that has been the trend ever since 1948. Some might point out that the Vision goes against international law and every UN resolution since 1947. Others might note that the US has never seen the need to observe such niceties. Washington goes by the motto ‘might is right’.

This is nothing mre than a publicity stunt from Trump to deflect media away from his impeachement trial that is getting a bit messier then he wanted.
