None of this surprises me one bit but attempting to explain events to friends immediately marginalizes you when you try to bring your friends into an understanding of world events and that what they hear and see may be a complete manipulation and untrue. I often hear the sarcastic comment ‘oh, this is the CIA again is it?’ Meaning that…… ‘your view is simply conspiracy theory, how silly you are in thinking this way’ . You get the smirks, the look of’ how stupid’, the smile between friends that says ‘here he goes again what a fool’. Regrettably it is they that are the fools until they put the effort into understanding.
