Iran’s supreme leader posts cartoon

One wonders is this the beginning of the end for the House of Saud or any Royal in any Arab state? Following the beheading of a Shiite Cleric on Saturday (along with 46 others) Saudi Arabia and Iran now appear to be on a headlong clash for supremacy in the region. Riyadh has cut diplomatic ties with Tehran. The Saudis have demanded the Iran mission leave the country within 48 hours.  This is because the Saudis believe that Iran did nothing to protect the Saudi Embassy in Tehran which was torched by the masses protesting the execution of the Shiite cleric. Despite the Saudi’s pumping as much oil as possible thereby threatening the tenuous existence of the US shale oil industry with mass bankruptcies about to befall them one presumes that the US will continue to back the brutal dictators of Saudi Arabia against Iran, a country that is raising its influence in the middle east following the proposed lifting of sanctions .

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has used his official website to release a cartoon drawing parallels between the executions by Saudi Arabia and Isis, and said there will a backlash that will punish Riyadh’s “political mistakes.”
