KW: So far in New Zealand there is no sign of negative interest rates. Could they become a real threat?

Many of the proponents of holding gold argue now that negative interest rates are a huge plus for gold and a reason why everyone should own gold. Why, they argue, should we pay to own government debt instruments (bonds) when we can hold gold and not have to pay? Good question.
