KW: Todays NZ HErald reports “A series of mysterious attacks against the main Russian military base in Syria, including one conducted by a swarm of armed miniature drones, has exposed Russia’s continued vulnerability in the country despite recent claims of victory by President Vladimir Putin.
The attacks have also spurred a flurry of questions over who may be responsible for what amounts to the biggest military challenge yet to Russia’s role in Syria, just when Moscow is seeking to wind its presence down.”
It’s almost as though the lead story is making out that this is somehow showing the weakness of Russia in Syria whereas the Zerohedge report below demonstrates that it just might be an orchestrated U.S. attack on the Russian airbase using unsophisticated home made drones as the attack weapon. Interesting to know that a U.S. spy plane was circling the area at the same time. Giving directions?
Pictures of the drones released by Russian Ministry of defence… hardley a sophisticated build!
On Tuesday, we reported that the Russian military in Syria thwarted a massive drone attack at the Khmeimim air base and Russian Naval point in the city of Tartus on January 6, intercepting 13 heavily armed UAVs launched by terrorists.
