Iran has ALWAYS been the target for destruction by the U.S. spurred on by the Israelis who are baying for blood. The weird alliance with the Saudi Arabian regime is because this is Sunni vs Shia Muslim stuff as it is in Syria with Assad also being Shia. The hatred between Sunni and Shia is so deep seated that you actually get Muslim and Jew aligning with each other.
